Happy Saturday July 31st PDF Print E-mail

It's been about a month since I wrote a Happy Saturday note.....

I have been thinking about the youth at NLCC and am praying that you are growing in your love for God and that His presence is sweet in your lives.....

I want to share something that I wrote this past week in my journal. So it's something that I wrote as I "heard it in my heart".... maybe you will "hear something in your heart" as you read it and know that God really loves you and cares for you intensely.

"My daughter, my girl, my bright and shining one, my smiling partner..... Dance with
Me ~ let Me lead you ~ I am a good dance partner and I know the dance and I am a
good and confident leader. I will not change My mind in the middle of the step and
cause you to not know how to follow. Stay swept up in My embrace and I will lead well.
Let Me lead you out into My garden where you will be Mine alone ~ in My embrace ~
in My love ~ I love you tenderly. I guide you tenderly but I am confident in My leading.
I know where we are going together ~ so keep dancing with Me. Don't be afraid.
I am a good leader and I know where we are going."

It's like God spoke to my heart using a picture of something that I understood. He will do the same for you. Usually I read my Bible for a while every morning and then when I am not in a hurry to go somewhere I open my journal and just see if there is something in my heart to write. God will mostly just remind you of how much He loves you and will encourage you in the love He has for you. Sometimes He will give you directions about something you are facing in your life. But anytime you write things in a journal they will not contradict the Bible and they will never tell you that God doesn't love you. Because He always loves you.

So, get out your Bible and read....... and see if He wants to talk to you..... He loves you and has wonderful plans for your life.

Grace and peace,
Lynn

The thing I am thinking about today is that no matter what is going on in your life right now turn your affection on the Lord. When you turn your affection on God and stay in that place for a while, where you concentrate your love on Him, then the love He has for you will begin to fill your heart. If you are having trouble in the day before you spend time setting your affections on Him you will find a new perspective after receiving His love.......
Above all else today, no matter what you are thinking, feeling or experiencing.... take a break from all of that and just focus on HIM..... all other things will fade away...... you will find peace and rest and be able to once again walk in love in your life and all the problems you have will be seen through His love. He desires YOU and He desires to be in your life all the time....
Fix your eyes on Him..... He loves you with a love that is so amazing. When you were without HIM and walking however you wanted in your life, He continued to step toward you and desire a relationship with you.

NLCC youth..... this Sunday, June 27th, is our last class with you.... can you say popcorn and videos???? that's class time.... we'll see what other food we can come up with for class time... then party after church with your parents and get to hear from Clayton and Denyelle as they introduce themselves to you and your parents. The best is yet to come!!!!! God bless you! I really want to see you this Sunday - do what you can to come to church this next Sunday!!!!

Shift church.... We will be meeting on Sunday the 27th at 5:30 as usual.... see you then. Remember we won't meet at all on July 4th. Celebrate the USA and pray for our country.

Love you all,
Lynn

Time to dream......
Time to seek God to pursue the dream....
Dreams are worth running after, but only if they are God-breathed!!!!

So what is success???
Success according to Joshua 1:8 "This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate in it day and night, that you may observe to do according to all that is written in it. For then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success." (NKJV)
Ecc 10:10 "...But wisdom brings success." (NKJV)
Colossians 1:1-3 "For this reason we also, since the day we heard it, do not cease to pray for you, and to ask that you may be filled with the knowledge of His will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding; Him we preach, warning every man and teaching every man in all wisdom, that we may present every man perfect in Christ Jesus, in whom are hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge." (NKJV)

So what I want to share is, DREAM and seek the hidden treasures of wisdom and knowledge that are in Jesus. Keep learning about Jesus - His story is in the Bible....

NLCC Youth: we are having class in the morning.... you want to be there..... yep, you do!!!!
Then, no class on Father's day. Then, on June 27th we will have a party during class and a time after church for your parents to meet Clayton and Denyelle. God has wonderful plans for all of you!!!!! See you in the morning!!!! :D

Shift church: Sunday evening gathering at 5:30 pm... Sandwiches here along with whatever you bring to add.... See you at our house. If anyone wants to join us send me a note with questions/directions. :)

Grace and peace,
Lynn

I didn't write this last week - no one seemed to miss it..... but I'll write this one anyway :)

Especially to those of you who will be tagged on this because you are a part of my family or a part of the youth at New LIfe Christian Center or a part of Shift Church - I wanted to share some of the upcoming changes that may be of interest to you.

NLCC youth - We are with you tomorrow and the next week - then we will be somewhere else on Fathers' Day (probably at Bethel in Valparaiso, IN visiting friends). ON June 27th we are going to have a party during our class time with you so pass the news on to those who don't always come. June 27th will be our last "official" time with you so the party is to have some time with us and with the new couple that are going to continue teaching the youth class. They are an awesome couple and I think you will agree with me on that. Let your parents know to come to the youth and kitchen area after service to join the party too!!! :)

Last week on our way home from Woodstock our exhaust system fell apart on the highway! Tim tied it up with a stereo patch cable until we could get to Home DePot and get something stronger to keep it up till we got home. Today Tim and Mark got the exhaust on the car!!!! I am so proud of my 2 guys!!!! Tim applied for a great sounding job on Friday - pray for him to get it! God keeps reminding us that He has our finances all covered... that's a really good thing!!!

Well, I am going to unload the dryer and go get my hair cut and see if my broken cell phone can be revived..... But in the business of life I didn't want to forget to let you know of the upcoming changes. With our leaving the youth class in Woodstock we will have more time to get ready to launch "officially" Shift Church. We are thankful for the ones who come over on Sunday and are so thankful that God's presence shows up and loves us and heals us!!!!! Yay God!!!! Let me know if you want to join us on Sunday evening and you need directions! :)
Grace and peace,
Lynn

Happy Saturday May 8th PDF Print E-mail

I skipped last week because of the Silvertones' concerts last Saturday - wonderful time!!!!

My note this week comes from the thoughts in Galatians 5 and 6. In reading the Message Bible there are statements that caught my attention this morning:
I am an original
I don't need to compare myself with others as if one of us were better and another worse.
Make a careful exploration of who you are and the work you have been given, and then sink yourself into that. Don't be impressed with yourself, don't compare yourself with others. Each of you must take responsibility for doing the creative best you can with your own life.
Set free from the stifling atmosphere of pleasing others and fitting into the little patterns they dictate.

My thought on this is that we are each supposed to be different than everyone else. There are things in me that are totally different than anyone else. If I try to be more like those around me then I am not becoming the ME that God designed. In each of us are the answers for every problem that we are facing as a people in the world. But if we don't allow ourselves to dream and get creative and take risks we may never discover the genius that God put in us. So let's take some time to seek God and dream!!!!! Ask the Holy Spirit to help us be creative and dream and see what He speaks to our hearts. Pursue those dreams and take the risks to grow and learn more. He may want some of us to pursue more education and bring answers to the problems we are facing for energy production, sicknesses, even something like dealing with garbage "mountains", or one of the many other issues that the world is facing. You may be the one that God has created to bring solutions!
Keep dreaming!!! Take risks..... if we "fail" we will have learned more than if we never took the risk.....

NLCC youth - see you in the morning!!!! We meet this week (May 9th) and not on May 16th.
Shift church - see you in the evening! Since the weather is cool this week end I am making chili and cornbread. Bring something to share to add to that. If you have never joined us before you are welcome!!!!  Send me a message through the contact link with questions.       Grace and peace, Lynn :)
